4. Ski Trip-January 16-19th. Reply to evites if you want to attend.

Great job at the College Race, especially to the newbies who have just joined and had practice 1-2 race pieces prior to the race. Both boats tried their hardest, but there is always room for more improvement.

Hey everyone,
Sorry for not updating the website. I promise that this will change in the fall quarter.
Anywho, for those of you who have been showing up to practices, good job. You guys are keeping the team together! Our next upcoming race will be the San Francisco International Dragon Boat Festival at Treasure Island on October 4th. As you may know, we are only bringing one boat, so attendance is important if you want to be involved in the race. We have less than 5 practices left!
At the beginning of August, we had a team camping event at Folsom Lake. For those of you didn't go, you guys really missed out on some fun! And for those of you who went, thank you making the camping trip as awesome as it was. We went from not showering for 2 days straight, to playing 50 or so intense games of MJ, watching tons of shooting stars streak across the sky, swimming across the lake with weird flotation devices or none at all, getting some cool singletrack biking action, playing with the flamboyant Monster Disc and tag football to avoiding dangerous rattlesnakes and stinky skunks.
I will post up more pictures from events and socials soon. =] Hope everyone enjoys their last weeks of summer vacation.

Hello everyone!
Yay for summer! Boo for the hellish Davis heat...
For the ViewSonic Race at Long Beach, we are having 2 boats. Practice is every weekend at Alameda. We will start having practices in Sacramento after the Long Beach race.
For those of you who still have not paid, please contact any board member and do so soon.

GM - 5/1/08
Hey all,
Good practice to all who came, i can really see potential in the boat. We just need a final tune up on the coming practice, and we'll be good!
A reminder, elections will be this week, Thursday, so make sure you're at Olson 261 at 7:30PM. We're still taking nominations, so if you have someone in mind to nominate, feel free to contact one of the board members about it.

Picnic Day Recap
Hey Everyone,
Picnic Day was a success! Great weather and a ton of people waiting for our short ribs and Italian soda. Aside from running out of supplies here and there and dealing with petty customers, everything ran smoothly.
I think we owe a big thank you to all our volunteers organizers!
We ended up making as much as projected, so this is great news for the team.
Once again, remember that elections are coming up so if you have any nominations for anyone you'd think would be a good board member, don't be shy and nominate them.

Hey Everyone, hope you all had a good long weekend. It's time to shift gears back to dragon boat.
There will be a GM this Thursday, 2/21/08 at 7:30PM at Olson 261. We've got a lot to discuss, so please be there.
On Friday, we've got an optional pool practice. Details here:
Date: Friday (2/22/08)
Time: 4:45pm (try to get there by 4:30pm)
Place: Pool inside Chaparral Apartments (2689 Sycamore Lane) - You can take the G or J there - If you need a ride, you can call me at 415-706-4465.
Finally, we'll be racing in May, sooner than all of you think, so we'll need more paddlers. Hint hint.

Great Race
Hey Everyone,
Great to see us all out and about on Sunday. It nice to race and chat with all of you and hope you guys had fun as well. I'm proud of both of our crews! As we can see, we have high potential, so keep that in mind next time we have practice. The competition has really stepped it up, and we must follow suit.
Back to fun and games, I've uploaded some pics from the boat cleanup/dinner/race. More may come later...
Also, keep in mind that our Thanksgiving dinner is coming up!

However, we must get down to business...
1) Make sure to read Shirley's email and pay her!
2) Though some food will be there, please bring snacks for everyone else, we are in fact hosting UCLA, so also poison maybe?
3) There will be a practice/boat cleaning on Saturday, 1PM, and remember, this is of great importance to dial in our crews!
4) Relax before the race and don't get injured!
